Season 1, Episode 3

Confessions of ThorBowski

In today’s episode, DJ gets personal reliving some trauma this year. Needless to say, he may have been a bit ‘triggered’ with Bro Thor in the final Avengers movie.

Today we explore why “Achievers” can be super vulnerable when they fail and the impacts that it can have on our families.
DJ doesn’t hold back here – we talk about some rough stuff.

Hero

03:53: Here’s the thing to me, if a masculine figure wants to be a hero, that means something really important and that is, sacrifice instead of glory.

Taking Full Blame

08:14: We have a lesson to learn here as well, and that is, that just making it all your fault doesn’t really help anything… It’s not about anyone else anymore, and that is a kind of selfishness that will keep you from achieving any kind of real outward results.

Achievers

09:18: We, as achievers, need to approach that humility of saying, yeah, I know I didn’t achieve this, you didn’t achieve this. The reality is, I’m not better than you, you’re not better than me. We all fail. It’s something that we do. It’s part of our condition as being humans.

16:50: If you are a high achiever, if you are somebody who is setting goals and wanting to do them, we can’t leave the world better than we found it if we only rely on our own selves, on our own strength.

Delegating

17:20: The challenge is, find something to delegate that you’ve been holding onto because of past failures.

Letting Go

18:32: If you really want to leave the world better than you found it, you need to let go.
